At Bean Oak Dental Care, we aim to provide high quality dental care centred around prevention for your whole family. By using modern techniques and materials we provide an efficient service of extremely high standard in a relaxed and friendly environment.
To help us maintain our high standard in crown and bridge work, we have the added bonus that we own our own dental laboratory Creative Ceramic Art Ltd. By working together with our Premier Ceramist, Ulrich Nieuwenhuis, we can create the best aesthetic result possible for our patients. You have the opportunity to meet him before your treatment plan is finalised and have your shade of your existing teeth matched as close as possible by working together with him and the dentist throughout the treatment.
However big or small your dental needs, we deliver very high standards in all aspects of dentistry. All our dentists are highly skilled and with years of experience are committed to providing the best quality care to all our patients by using the latest techniques and knowledge.
We also have a pain free solution to local anaesthetic at our practice! We have invested in “The Wand” which is a revolutionary new computer controlled local anaesthesia injection system that can provide a more comfortable and effective anaesthetic delivery. Whether you get nervous about the injection or not, ‘The Wand’ allows a more predictable comfortable injection, especially in the more sensitive areas such as the palate or front of the mouth. I also allow the use of less anaesthetic and at certain times, techniques can be used to eliminate the collateral numbing of your face, tongue and lips. The needle is not what causes the main discomfort of an injection. It is the pressure and volume of the fluid going into the tissues. The microprocessor inside ‘The Wand’ automatically compensates for different tissue densities. The anaesthetic is delivered at a constant pressure and volume that is typically below the threshold of pain. The computer also provides a flow of anaesthetic directly ahead of the needle. This numbs the site of insertion and develops a pathway of anaesthesia so you hardly feel the needle at all. ‘The Wand’ delivers the anaesthetic at an optimal flow rate for comfortable injection every time. Meet the Team
Dr. Sonika Burger
B.Ch.D (University of Stellenbosch, South Africa); DPDS (University of Bristol)
Dr. Sonika Burger has graduated from Dental School at the University of Stellenbosh in 1999. She came to England and worked in Taunton, Somerset for 2 years after which she moved to Berkshire in 2002 and have up until recently worked in a private practice in Twyford, near Reading. She has completed a postgraduate Diploma in Sedation, Oral Surgery and Oral Pathology at the University of Bristol in 2005. She is a certified Clearstep Clinician and is passionate about improving people’s lives by helping to improve their self-esteem in which recreating an aesthetic smile is key. She is the new practice owner and principal dentist of Bean Oak Dental Care.
Outside work she is a committed mother with two young boys and loves spending time together with her family in the outdoors.
Dr. Liezel Oberholzer
B.Ch.D (University of Pretoria, South Africa)
Liezel graduated from the University of Pretoria, South-Africa in 1994. After graduating she moved to England with her husband Chris (also a dentist) and acquired a dental practice in Egham (Surrey). Together they built the practice to become a large and successful family practice. In 2006 they decided to sell the practice and Liezel took this opportunity to spend some more quality time with their young son and to indulge in some favourite pastimes: tennis, aerobics, skiing, gardening reading and travelling.
Liezel joined Bean Oak Dental Care in January 2009 and brings with her a wealth of experience in all aspects of general dentistry. She is a perfectionist and applies that eye for attention to all aspects of her work. She particularly enjoys doing cosmetic dentistry as this can really boost patients confidence and self-esteem and that is surely something to smile about!
Dr. Matt Golightly BDS
Matt was born in 1971 in Chertsey; he qualified from Kings College in London in 1993. He worked in an NHS practice for 10 years and for the past 6 years he has owned his own practice in Sandhurst. He sold this practice in September 2009 and has now joined us at Bean Oak Dental Care so he can concentrate on what he enjoys, which is dentistry! He is a father of 2, so enjoys working with children.
Matt is an excellent dentist and is especially good with nervous patients. He can also provide treatment under sedation should it be the patients choice. He has been doing Dental Implants for over 10 years and did a Diploma at the Royal College of Surgeons in 2003. Matt also enjoys doing Endodontic treatment (‘Root Canals’), Cosmetic Dentistry, including Smile Makeovers, and Invisalign braces.
Matt is a very competent and confident dentist and we are proud to have him as part of our team!
